Aura content is limited to UAB students, faculty and staff, and Birmingham, Alabama artists. A limited number of submissions may be considered for publication from the region particularly if the artist has a UAB connection, such as alumni, former staff, etc.
All submissions should be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope, or, if possible, send via email to uabaura@yahoo.com from a frequently-checked address. Without such, no response will be offered in regard to publication, nor will the submission be returned. Please do not send previously published work or simultaneous submissions. Both will be automatically rejected.
All submissions of relatively great length (short stories, essays, plays, etc.) should include a copy of the work in electronic format via email to uabaura@yahoo.com.
Submissions of poetry should not include more than five poems and should not total more than ten typed, double-spaced pages.
Visual artwork of all forms is accepted; electronic copies via email are preferred, but copies are accepted as long as an electronic form is available.
Music submissions are now accepted—song lyrics will be published under the poetry category.
Please include the artist’s name on each page of written Work or on the back of each piece of visual artwork (if this is possible). Contact information for the artist should also be easily accessible.
